When it comes to slitting tape, one of the most common questions we get is: What’s the minimum width we can cut?
The answer is not always straightforward, as it depends on various factors such as the type of tape and its material properties.
Our smallest standard cut is 1/8 of an inch, with a tolerance of +/- 0.032 inches. This means that, while we aim for a precise 1/8-inch cut, not every roll will be exactly that width. However, we guarantee it will be within the acceptable tolerance range and reviewed as part of our ISO 9001 process.
While 1/8 inch is the smallest standard minimum width, we can slit thinner for specific types of tape. For example, vinyl tapes can generally be cut to 1/16 of an inch.
There are some instances where we may need to test a product to see if it can be slit to a smaller width. This ensures the tape can be slit accurately and consistently without compromising quality or performance.
