Denver, CO 3/22/2023 – Bron Tapes, Inc. has achieved ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification from NSF-ISR, an NSF company. The standard helps organizations reliably meet the needs of clients in both the delivery and continuous improvement of products and services.

“Our operations team played a significant role in achieving this certification, and it goes to show how much preparation and work is put into each order that leaves our facility,” CEO Mike Shand said. “We’re proud to achieve ISO 9001 status for our industrial building, adding to our ISO 9001:2015 + AS9100D Aerospace and ISO 9001:2015 Converting divisions.”

ISO 9001 is based on quality management principles such as a strong customer focus, the involvement of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Certification to ISO 9001 helps companies provide consistent, good quality products and services.

“Through certification to ISO 9001, Bron Tapes is able to not only improve their products, process and service quality, but also helps them reduce waste,” states Sameer Vachani, Senior Director of NSF-ISR. “This shows Bron Tapes’ commitment to improve their business and meet customer expectations globally.”

The standard focuses on performance through a combination of risk-based thinking and a process approach, as well as employment of the “plan-do-check-act” cycle at all levels in the organization.  

“An ISO certification signifies we have a system, and underlying processes, in place to provide better, more consistent service,” Senior Quality Manager Wayne Hoshiyama said.

Processes controlled via the Quality Management System:

1. Procurement 

- We only work with reputable manufacturers and vendors who all go through a quality review prior to doing business

- All incoming material is inspected for conformity prior to acceptance

- We require lot/ batch traceability documents for all materials

2. Customer Service / Quoting / Contract Review

- All orders are assessed for risk, to ensure we are able to successfully fulfill customer’s needs

- All orders go through multiple quality checkpoints to verify accuracy

3. Production – Value-added Converting

- Maintain lot traceability throughout production process

- In-process quality checkpoints throughout production process to ensure conformity

4. Quality Control

- Ensures conformity to customer requirements

- Post delivery support

- Non-conformance management

- Continuous improvement
