Gaffers Tape Construction

Gaffers tape is composed of three basic elements:

• Adhesive: A synthetic rubber adhesive system allows for clean removal properties from most surfaces, including carpet and finished concrete.
• Backing: Gaffers tape is a cloth product, supplied on a cloth backing made of tightly woven fabric. This allows gaffers tape to remain hand tearable with good overall strength.
• Release Coating: Applied to the backing material, a release coating allows the tape to unwind from itself. Without the release coating, you’d never be able to use the product!

Gaffers Tape Colors

Gaffers tape is most often sold in black, grey, or white – although colors are also sold for color coding and marking applications. BT-260 Professional Grade Gaffers Tape is available in 18 different colors, including fluorescent yellow, fluorescent pink, purple, red, and electric blue.
