BT-4001 is a double sided mounting, containment, and draping tape that features a clean removal adhesive on one side and an aggressive adhesive on the other. The open side of the tape is a low tack blue masking tape, while the linered side is an aggressive adhesive for holding up sheeting.
BT-4001 is transforming the way containment barriers are setup and taken down by combining materials into an all-in-one solution that offers significant time, labor, and back-end cleanup costs.
With BT-4001 you can now quickly setup a secure containment in a few quick steps! Here’s how to get started:
Step 1: Prepare the Surface
Start by cleaning the area of the surface where the tape will be applied. A clean surface will provide stronger adhesion resulting in higher performance.
Step 2: Apply BT-4001
Apply strips of BT-4001 to the perimeter of your containment area or doorframe and begin laying the tape down with the clean removal adhesive (blue side) facing the wall or door frame. The adhesive should cover the entire length of the frame for maximum hold.
Step 3: Remove Liner
Peel off the light blue liner to reveal the aggressive adhesive, which will provide a strong and secure hold to the plastic sheeting.
Step 4: Hang the Plastic Sheeting (Visqueen)
Carefully position the plastic sheeting over the tape, starting at the top. Press down firmly along the edges to secure it to the adhesive. Make sure the sheeting is secure and covers the entire opening without gaps. This will help to effectively contain dust and debris.
Step 5: Removing the Containment
After completing your project, begin by peeling off a corner of the containment. This allows for a quick, clean removal in one smooth pull!
