Problem: Inefficient Supply Chain Process

Solution: Streamline and Optimize Process

Material: Adhesive and Fabric

Results: Increase in efficiency, and Reduced Wasted Time and Labor

Backstory

A customer had an inefficient process when it came to bringing their product to life. The customer was purchasing log rolls of fabric, which were then sent to be laminated with adhesive. After, the laminated rolls were transferred to a local converter to be slit, and finally, the customer cut the rolls in-house to 36 & 37 inch strips.

Due to the multiple steps, shipment and vendor costs incurred rapidly, as well as risk of delays and complications. Time and labor hours also increased, leading the process to be counterproductive.

That’s when our Application Specialist stepped in to find a solution.

The Results

After research, development, and testing, our Application Specialist discovered that consolidating all the factors in the customer’s process into one was the perfect approach.

Now, adhesive lamination, custom slitting, die cutting, and even special packaging are all done in one place. Our Application Specialist takes the customers log rolls of fabric and delivers finished 3.875in x 36in/37in strips of fabric tape, eliminating the need to iron each strip of fabric onto the products to reach required adhesion levels.

By eliminating many moving factors and centralizing them into one, it allowed the customer to reduce labor hours and time wasted. Additionally, shipment and vendor costs minimized as well as lead times. This approach created a more effective and economical process for the customer.
